NOTE - A custom sender address can only be registered for PRO or Enterprise subscriptions.
Sender address/Bounce address (From-address):
The sender address is the technical sender, the email address that the email appears to have been sent from. This is also where all bounces and "Out of office" replies will be sent. The domain of the sender address must be trusted with an SPF record and DKIM. We recommend creating a general email address, such as email@yourdomain.com or mailing@yourdomain.com, and using it as the sender address.
Since it is important that the setup is correct for the sender address, it should not be changed back and forth between different addresses.
You cannot change the sender address on your Ungapped account yourself.
Contact support@ungapped.com if you need to change the sender address on your account.
Reply address (reply-to-address)
This is the business reply address, meaning the address that a recipient replies to. You can easily change the reply address in an email template or in a specific email, and the default setting can be set in your Ungapped account.
The reply address should be a monitored inbox to ensure you do not miss important feedback or questions from members and customers.
The recommended default settings for the reply address are info@yourdomain.com or support@yourdomain.com. If you're writing a more personal email, you can certainly use your own email address as the reply address.
The reply address must be validated first (an email will be sent to that address, and the recipient must click a button in the email to confirm that Ungapped can use the address as the reply address).
Once you have set up SPF/DKIM for your domain, you must:
- Notify Ungapped support that you have done this and specify which sender address you wish to use - we will then need to make a setting on our side.
- Once we have verified that your desired email address exists, we will change to the new address and inform you when it is complete.
