Send an e-mail to a segment

  • Updated

Example 1 – Women in Västernorrland county

If you have a large contact list and only want to send an e-mail to a specific segment (for example women in Västernorrland), you can efficiently target this segment without manually creating a separate contact list.

You could use the Advanced Search function to filter this segment and then place it in its own contact list, but there is a smarter, simpler, and faster way.

Note! This feature is not included in all subscriptions. If you don't see the filter icon in the e-mail editor, you may need to upgrade your subscription. Contact support if that's the case!

  1. Open the e-mail.
  2. Link the e-mail to one or more contact lists.
  3. Click on the filter icon and make your selection.
You can use multiple filters if needed, but be careful to choose the correct logic ("AND/OR") and apply it thoughtfully.
  4. To check how many contacts are in the segment: Click the "Send" button in the right-hand panel, where you’ll see a calculation of the segment size.

These filters can be used to create segments:

  • Group
  • Attribute
  • Age
  • Tag
  • Received e-mail
  • List member
  • Segment member
  • Event participant
  • Event Participant Status
  • E-mail interaction
  • Survey response

These operations can be used:

  • Equals
  • Does not equal
  • Less than
  • Greater than
  • Contains
  • Does not contain
  • Greater than or equal to
  • Less than or equal to
  • Empty (= no data)
  • Not empty (= has data)

Example 2 – All who have participated in a specific event

Scenario: I want to e-mail everyone who has participated in a specific event.
